October 24 in the State Big Concert Hall named after S. Saidashev the festival of choral collectives "Gloria" will take place

18 October 2017, Wednesday

Students' choirs of the three largest musical universities of the Volga and the Urals will take part in a festive concert: Choir of students of Kazan Conservatory named after N.G. Zhiganov under the direction of Honored Artist of Russia V.G. Lukyanov, Academic Choir of the Saratov Conservatory named after L.V. Sobinov, under the direction of   Deserved  figure  of Russia L.A. Litsov and the Choir of students of the Ural Conservatory named after M. P. Mussorgsky under the direction of the Honored Artist of Russia V. B. Zavadsky will take part. The choirs have a rich history - all of them were founded in the difficult 40s of the last century and carefully preserve the traditions that have been formed during their existence.

The choir of the Kazan Conservatoire, founded in 1947, celebrates its 70th anniversary in this concert season. The collective is one of the oldest and, at the same time, the youngest choirs in Tatarstan. For a long time it represents the Kazan Conservatoire on the stages of Russia and Europe. It  is the holder  of the Grand Prix of international festivals in the cities of Grodno (Belarus) and Hajnowka (Poland).

Creative collectives of the Saratov and Ural conservatories are peers, they were founded in wartime, in 1943. Among the merits of the Saratov choir is the Grand Prix of the All-Russia competition "Singing Russia", the titles of laureates of a number of competitions and active participation in music festivals, choral forums of our country and abroad.

The choir from Ekaterinburg has an extensive repertoire, including compositions by the Ural composers, which allows the collective to take part in numerous musical projects and preserve their creative identity. In 2009, the choir became the laureate of the first stage of the international festival "Zhubanov Spring" (Kazakhstan).

In the program of the concert "Gloria" - famous spiritual works of a cappella   by  S. Rachmaninov, G. Sviridov, P. Chesnokov, D. Bortnyansky, compositions by V. Gavrilin, R. Shchedrin, S. Prokofiev, arrangements  of Russian, Tatar, Chuvash folk songs. The sound of the choir will complement the timbre of a "royal instrument". Accompanied by the organ the antiphon "Regina coeli" (Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart) performed by the choir of the Saratov Conservatory will sound, the organ's party is performed by  People's Artist of Russia Rubin Abdullin. At the end of the evening, a particularly magnificent performance awaits the audience: all three choirs will unite (and this is about 200 musicians!) In order to perform together with the organ "Sanctus", part of the famous Mass in B minor   by  Johann Sebastian Bach.
