October 18, 2017 in the "Hermitage-Kazan" Center of the State Historical, Architectural and Art Museum-Preserve "Kazan Kremlin" an exhibition "Under transparent ice of the glaze. Porcelain of St. Petersburg " is to be opened.
The large-scale exposition presents over 500 works by 18th-21st century masters from the first porcelain factory in Russia from the collection of the State Hermitage and the Imperial Porcelain Factory JSC. The porcelain of the first Imperial factory in Russia in St. Petersburg is a special phenomenon. Perceiving all the best that was created by the porcelain manufactures of the east and west, Russian imperial porcelain from the XVIII century represented an original art, which reflected the development of Russian art in general.
Five sections of the exhibition include masterpieces performed at the orders of the Romanovs' house, works of Soviet time and works by contemporary artists of the plant. The subjects of the historical collection are thematically combined with author's porcelain, which makes it possible to see how, despite all the difference in artistic language, the traditions of the oldest porcelain enterprise are preserved. Vases and other interior items, table sets and table decorations for imperial table, products with copies of paintings from the Hermitage collection, haberdashery and porcelain sculpture demonstrate all kinds of techniques for decorating porcelain and the unique skill of artists.
At present, the products of past eras have become particularly in demand. According to museum samples, ancient forms of vases, services, sculptures are restored. For them, artists create new designs of paintings, giving things a modern look.
