Today State Advisor of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev has visited an exhibition "Bilyar. Autumn 1236 "in the national art gallery" Hazine ".
The exposition is devoted to the turning points in the history of the Volga Bulgaria, which occurred on territory of modern Tatarstan and in many ways changed the course of world history. In 1236 the Mongolian troops conquered the Volga Bulgaria and its capital Bilyar, called the Great City. The reason for the creation of this project was the book by archaeologist, Doctor of Historical Sciences Konstantin Rudenko "Bilyar. Autumn 1236 ", published by publishing house" Zaman ". It is dedicated to the last days of the once flourishing cultural and commercial center of the bygone era - the city of Bilyar. The author, in collaboration with the famous artist, a winner of the Baki Urmanche award and the Musa Jalil award, Bulat Gilvanov, recreated a little-known page of Russian history - a heroic defense of Bilyar. The exhibition is an artistic and historical reconstruction of the events of the autumn of 1236, described in the book.
The opening of the exhibition took place on August 29, 2017 and was timed to coincide with the City Day and the Republic Day. The organizers of the exhibition project were the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan and the State Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Tatarstan. Authors of the idea - Doctor of Historical Sciences Konstantin Rudenko and Director of Zaman publishing house Marat Garifzyanov.
A complete picture of the past events of the autumn of 1236 helps to recreate archeological artifacts from the funds of the Bilyar Reserve and the National Museum of the Republic of Mari El named after T. Yevseyev. These are fragments of jewelry, dishes, arrowheads, as well as modern photographs of excavations and architectural remains of Bilyar, fragments of texts from the book.
Konsantin Rudenko and Bulat Gilvanov conducted an excursion around the exhibition.
After examining the exposition, Mintimer Shaimiev thanked the authors and organizers of the exhibition and noted: "We have a very rich history, we try to pay attention to many things: in terms of both tangible and intangible heritage. Today we successfully restore and develop Bolgar, Sviyazhsk, Kazan Kremlin, built the first Bulgarian Islamic Academy in the republic, recreate the Cathedral of the Kazan Icon of Our Lady. Other large projects are being implemented in the republic. What is very important, people like it. When they took up these projects, we said that these things are done from the heart and soul, and people will like them. Life confirmed this. No one remains indifferent. Everyone, in the best of his preparedness, shows interest and takes part. This makes me happy. The number of tourists visiting our historical sites has increased hundreds of times. At us, museum business becomes absolutely other, more substantial. An example of this is today's, I would say, a long-awaited exhibition of excellent authors. They wrote a story with a highly artistic design. Many pictures have been created. Here, not only the history is reflected, but new techniques were used, and a handwriting appeared, which is very valuable. This is an important work, we have such creative forces, we have become even stronger in order to further and deeper study our history, and most importantly to bring it through your works from generation to generation. This exhibition requires careful viewing. "
Mintimer Shaimiev said that Bilyar's future destiny is a special issue. "When we set about rebuilding Bolgar, we represented how much work and how to approach such issues. Everything must correspond to the spirit of history. This is a very serious work. We know that Bilyar is the capital of the Bulgarian state, as well as Suvar and Bolgar. Why did we start with the Bolgar? Bolgar is the capital of the state, where Islam was first accepted on the territory of present-day Russia voluntarily and at the state level. This is a very important factor. And we on this basis, in this direction and further develop the Bolgar, created the Bulgarian Islamic Academy. The historical heritage of Bilyar is very rich. I think that today we have familiarized with this exhibition with such attention. This is a signal for us all. We have a wonderful team of scientists, historians, archeologists, specialists, whose competence is recognized by UNESCO institutes, and we must use this force on other sites. "
He recalled that at the entrance to the Museum of the Bulgarian Civilization two towers dedicated to the history of Suvar and Bilyar were built. "For starters, we need to look at them once more and perhaps strengthen their expositions for proper presentation to the visitors of Bolgar," said Mintimer Shaimiev.
He added that the increased attention to Bilyar can be caused by the fact that recently the question is being developed about Russia's participation in the project of the cross-border serial nomination of the UNESCO World Heritage Site "Silk Road" by the northern corridors of the Great Silk Road that pass through some regions of Russia. The historic cities of Bilyar, Suvar, Djuketau are located in the Tatarstan corridor of the Silk Road.
"The idea of creating the book was born from my personal archaeological experience - almost thirty years. The idea was born a long time ago, and it took shape just recently and very quickly poured into a book. The events described here are really grandiose: if you look now at the expanses of the Bilyar fortress, you can imagine the scale of the battle of the beginning of the 13th century. Such events on a history scale are single and therefore grandiose, "Konstantin Rudenko told journalists.
The exhibition features 18 original graphic works created by the artist Bulat Gilvanov in 2016 for Konstantin Rudenko's book "Bilyar. Autumn of 1236 ".
"The history of the ancient city has long been exciting and fascinating, there have been developments before, several works that were created before the writing were included in the book," said Bulat Gilvanov.
