On September 15, Republican contest of reciters of poetry by G.R. Derzhavin begins

The final of the contest and  awarding ceremony will take place on October 31, 2017. The competition is held in the framework of the All-Russia Derzhavin Festival, aimed at popularizing the literary heritage of G.R. Derzhavin and promoting the ideas of the prestige of reading in the society, especially among readers of young age, the importance of universal values. The organizers of the contest are the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Union of Writers of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Russian literature can not be imagined without the name of G.R. Derzhavin, whose poetry influenced not only the poets of the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. Each subsequent generation of writers opens up new facets of G.R. Derzhavin's artistic thought as the author of philosophical, civic, patriotic lyric poetry. Being Governor of Olonets and Tambov Gubernias, Senator, State Treasurer, First Minister of Justice and Prosecutor General, first of all, Gavriil Romanovich Derzhavin was a great poet who anticipated the golden age of Russian poetry.

The republican contest of  reciters of poetry by G.R. Derzhavin has been held since 2014. More than 400 schoolchildren of the Republic of Tatarstan became participants of the first contest. This year, applications for participation in the competition from students and students of secondary and higher educational institutions of the republic for the following age categories are accepted:

- pupils of grades 5-8;

- pupils of grades 9-11;

- students of secondary and higher educational institutions in the sphere of culture.

The competition also provides participating  in  nomination  after Ayrat Arslanov  name "For the best artistic performance".

The competition is held in two stages.

I stage - correspondence. The application for participation in the competition (submitted in accordance with the form attached to this Regulation) and video recording should be sent to e-mail: derzhavin-sprt@mail.ru from September 15 to October 14, 2017, to the Writers' Union of the Republic of Tatarstan. The results of the first stage are posted on the website of the Writers' Union of the Republic of Tatarstan www.sptatar.ru no later than October 27, 2015.

The II stage of the competition - full-time - will be held on October 30, 2015 at the club named after G. Tukay of the Union of Writers of the Republic of Tatarstan (420012, Kazan, 14 Mushtari St., tel.236-97-71).

Travel, meals, accommodation of participants and guests of the competition at the expense of the sending party.
