Over Russia with Maxim Gorky

September 13, 2017, at 15.00,  the Literary and Memorial Museum  after  A.M. Gorky features  a presentation of a new tourist route "Over Russia with Maxim Gorky." Its launch is timed to coincide with the 150th anniversary of the great Russian writer. We remind that  the anniversary will be celebrated next year at the state level.

Implementation  of an old dream - the consolidation of the Gorky museums of the country with the purpose of representing the significance of the writer's figure in modern society became possible last year, when the Association of Gorky Museums of the country was established in Gorky's homeland, Nizhny Novgorod. The initiator of its appearance was the State Order of Honor  museum of A.M. Gorky, who  won a grant from the President of the Russian Federation for the implementation of the tourist route "Over  Russia with Maxim Gorky." The project is based on the creation of a new route that unites the most important points - the cities connected with the biography of Maxim Gorky: Nizhny Novgorod, Moscow and, of course, Kazan - the "a spiritual homeland" of the writer.

An important partner and co-organizer of the route was the oldest literary museum of the Republic of Tatarstan -  the Literary and Memorial Museum after  A.M.  Gorky. Unique materials - the authentic things of the writer and his family are represented on the renewed expositions. But, considering that there is another "hero" in the museum - Fyodor Shalyapin - friend of A.M. Gorky and our famous countryman, many projects of the museum represent a tandem of "the two characters of the twentieth century" - Maxim Gorky and Fyodor Shaliapin (by the way, in plans  renaming of "Literary and Memorial Museum of A.M. Gorky" in the "Museum of A.M. Gorky and F.I. Shalyapin"). That is why, in Kazan part of the tourist route "By Russia with  Maxim Gorky" will be held under the name "Gorky  and Shaliapin". After all, Kazan became for one (A.Gorky) " a spiritual homeland" - the time of formation and catharsis, and for another (F.I. Shalyapin) a real  birthplace - "the most beautiful of all cities in the world".

Museum workers and representatives of travel agencies of the country will take part in the first bus tour "Over  Russia with Maxim Gorky" (Nizhny Novgorod - Kazan - Moscow - Nizhny Novgorod).
