The XIII International Festival of Muslim Cinema in Kazan has began its work. On September 5, a solemn opening ceremony of the forum took place in the "Pyramid" complex.
The festival was started by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. "Every year the festival captures hearts of moviegoers and strengthens its position as one of the authoritative reviews not only of domestic but also of world cinema. It is gratifying that the filmmakers from different countries, who have visited our festival for the first time, return to Kazan to present their new films. The Kazan Muslim Film Festival is held under the motto "Through the dialogue of cultures to a culture of dialogue" and demonstrates to the world the true humanistic values of Islam, which call for interreligious and intercultural communication and creation, "he said. Chairman of the Council of Muftis of Russia, Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin declared the festival officially open.

The screenings of films and the events of the film festival began yesterday before the official opening ceremony.
Actor Kirill Pletnev opened a judo section and a theater circle in Kazan, and later took part in the "Time of Cinema" forum, where he presented his first full-length feature film "Burn!"
The presentation of the film "Mullah" with the participation of Marat Basharov and the presentation of the picture "Scoundrel", which was presented by director Mikhail Levitin, junior and actress Olga Ostroumova was held at the "Rodina" cinema.
