September 6, 2017 at 10.00, the Museum of Islamic Culture will host an exhibition "The Word of the Prophet in the Art of Islam." The exhibits are represented by the association of private collectors of Art Club "Art Club B.V" within the framework of the XIII Kazan International Muslim Film Festival.
This rare collection is first exhibited in Russia. The most valuable artifacts of Islamic art will be presented at the Museum-Reserve "Kazan Kremlin".
The exhibition introduces 27 items of Muslim art from private collections in Russia, Britain, Germany and the Netherlands. This collection includes unique works of art that have no analogues in museum collections.
The collection contains items from the XIII-XIX centuries: sabers, daggers and warrior's mail, indo-Iranian prayer carpets, Anatolian kilim-namazlyki, Central Asian embroidered suzane and veils of mihrab. Local Islamic art will be represented by jewelry adornments of the Kama region and the Middle Volga region (bracelet and neck suspension). The high written culture of Islam will be demonstrated by the Koran and Rahle manuscript; Courses, decorated with inlaid from mother-of-pearl with calligraphically executed texts from the Koran.
Among the rare exhibits - a fragment of the kisva (Ottoman Empire, the end of XIX century.). The door of the XVIII century from Zanzibar is unique, with carved prayer on its upper edge. The marble grille of Indian origin, separating the women’s part from the men’s in the mosque, will amaze with an elegant design.
Residents of the republic and guests of the capital will be able to get acquainted with the ethnic diversity of the art of Islam on the example of architecture, the decoration of mosques and houses, everyday objects, calligraphy and objects of worship.
