In 2017, the 125th anniversary of the birth of the poet of the Silver Age with a world name is celebrated. Over the years, the Elabuga State Museum-Reserve has been carrying out extensive work to study and popularize the life and work of M.I. Tsvetaeva, which occupies a special place among the poets associated with Elabuga.
In 2002, as part of the Elabuga State Museum-Reserve, the Memorial Complex of M. I. Tsvetaeva, was created, which includes the House of Remembrance, the Literary Museum, the grave of the poet at the Peter and Paul Cemetery, the Intercession Cathedral, the Portomoynia Museum and the Silver Age Library. Every two years, the museum-reserve, with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan, conducts International Tsvetaeva Readings, collecting admirers and explorers of Marina Ivanovna's creativity from all over the world on the Elabuga land.
In 2007, the Literary Prize was established. M.I. Tsvetaeva, whose goal is to popularize the poet's name and encourage the creativity of literary critics, biographers, translators, museum workers and theaters, critics who are studying Tsvetaeva's creative heritage.
In the year of the 125th anniversary of the birth of Marina Tsvetaeva, Elabuga, as before, became the center of a large number of events dedicated to the great Russian poet. Traditionally, there will be held the Day of the poet's memory, the contest of readers of the works of the Silver Age poets, the Tsvetaevsky fire, many exhibition projects. In connection with the anniversary of the poet, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Elabuga State Museum-Reserve decided to establish an extraordinary VIII Literary Award after M.I. Tsvetaeva and hand it in Yelabuga in the presence of the winners of the 2008-2016 prize.
All events will be held on September 4 and 5 on the basis of the Elabuga State Museum-Reserve and Elabuga Institute of the Kazan Federal University.
