Shaliapin’s Festival continues: the playbill of next week - the masterpieces of Verdi, Puccini, Tchaikovsky and Mussorgsky

On the stage of the Tatar State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre named   after M. Jalil  the  XXXIII International Opera Festival named after  F. I. Shaliapin   continues. The first week of the festival gave the audience a meeting with the masterpieces of Puccini, Gershwin, Verdi, Donizetti and Bizet. Ahead - a favorite  operas  "Eugene Onegin", "Madame Butterfly", "Boris Godunov", "Rigoletto" and 2 final gala concerts.

The festival opened on February 1 by Mikhail Pandzhavidze "Turandot" - the story of a cruel princess whose  riddles  guesses a son   of  Tatar king. Concert performance of "Porgy and Bess" on February 3 did not leave the audience indifferent - endless applause to the performers singers expected to complete the evening. In the first "part" Opera Forum was represented by just three operas staged by the famous director Yuri Alexandrov - "Aida", made in the classical tradition, "The Elixir of Love" and "The Barber of Seville" in modern interpretation.

Contrary to the generally accepted canons, Carmen - Elena Maximova of the Vienna State Opera - appeared in the same performance on February 7 is not in the image of the burning brunette, traditionally supposed gypsy,  but  came on the scene with their natural color - blonde. But Michaela (Ekaterina Goncharova of the Mariinsky Theatre), on the contrary, appeared before the public with dark hair. The audience was   pleased with the excellent performance of the parties  by Ahmed Agadi - Don Jose (Mariinsky Theatre) and Pavel Kudinov - Escamillo (Germany).

Yesterday, the festival  presented   the opera "La Traviata" by G.Verdi. The story of Violetta Valéry embodied a soloist of the Mariinsky Theatre Oksana Shilova, her  partners in the scene became tenor Sergei Semishkur of the Mariinsky Theatre and the baritone Boris Statsenko from Germany.

Tomorrow, February 11, in the poster of the festival - "Eugene Onegin". The audience expects a bright cast: the role of Tatiana performs Ekaterina Goncharova  (Mariinsky Theatre), Onegin - Vasily Ladyuk (Moscow Novaya Opera Theatre n.a.  E.V. Kolobov), Olga and Lensky to be performed  by the  soloists of the Mariinsky Theatre and Sergey   Semishkur and Ekaterina  Sergeyeva.

One of the best theater productions - "Madame Butterfly" will be held in Kazan stage on February 12. The opera will involve artists from Germany: Sisheng Yi (Cio-Cio-San) and George Oniani (Pinkerton).

February 13, the birthday of Fyodor Chaliapin, the  opera "Boris Godunov" - national musical drama in 3 acts  by M. Mussorgsky takes place. All at once,   three outstanding bass  of modernity meet in the evening at the theater - Mikhail Kazakov in the party of King Boris, Alexey Tikhomirov as elder Pimen and Michael Svetlov - Krutikov the party of  Barlaam. Marina Mnishek  to be  performed by a soloist of the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia Agunda Kulaeva, as the Impostor  - Artem Golubev (Primorsky  Theatre of Opera and Ballet).

The final performance will be the opera "Rigoletto". In the title role - Boris Statsenko from Germany, his daughter Gilda performs a soloist of the Tatar theater Venera Protasova. In the role of the Duke of Mantua soloists of the Mariinsky Theatre Sergei Skorohodov.

By tradition, the festival ends by gala concert, in which will take part the stars of world opera, the press service of the theater reports.
