IX International ethnic festival "Krutushka"

The festival will be held August 25-27 on the territory of the health-educational complex "Baitik" (Krutushka settlement, Kazan, Republic of Tatarstan).

"Krutushka" is a meeting with the colorful world of traditional culture of different peoples: modern ethno-music, authentic folklore, master classes, fair of artisans, various art projects, exhibitions, theater and dance performances, presentations of movies.

A new format this year will be a day of lectures and discussions with the participation of Russian historians and ethnographers, as well as clothing designers in the national style.

Among the guests of the music scene world-famous in a genre of world music, a band "Namgar" from Buryatia, fusion-folk jazz trio of Sergey Klevensky "Kle2Go" from Moscow, youth of the group "Argymak" from Bashkortostan, ensemble "Torama" from Mordovia. A gift for the audience will be a concert "Bognár Szilvia és az etNoé" from Budapest - the project of a Hungarian folk singer and progressive musicians, who will perform in Russia for the first time.

Another facet of "Krutushki" is the ancient traditions of the peoples. The festival will feature old songs of Tatars, Kryashens, Russians, Mari, Chuvash, Udmurts. For spectators, a lot of unique master classes are prepared: on throat singing, making traditional shepherd's horn and reed flute, playing the harp, Tatar harp, exotic Australian didgerid and ultramodern instrument - hange. And guests of "Krutushki" will try to create their own unique things together with blacksmiths and potters, act as a carver, weaver, jeweler.

Festival "Krutushka" is traditionally a family holiday, designed to unite representatives of the older and younger generations, to create a communication environment based on the transfer of unique knowledge, folk wisdom. For children of all ages and their parents, an ethno-pedagogical program is being prepared. The Moscow Folklore and Musical Theater "The Scientist Bear" will enjoy performances "The Tale of Egoriy the Brave" and "Kolobok", master classes on animation and folk games will be held.

For spectators it is provided accommodation in a tent camp, camping site or a comfortable building of the "Baitik" complex. The guests are provided with a developed infrastructure and, at the same time, proximity to the pristine nature - a forest protected by  non-freezing Blue Lakes. Residents of Kazan have the opportunity to get to Krutushka on the city bus number 78. Guests will be provided with a free guarded parking lot for private transportation.

The event is held within the framework of the state program "Implementation of the National Policy in the Republic of Tatarstan for 2014-2020".

The organizers of the festival are OOO "Center for Information Technologies in Education", the creative association "Ento" with the support of the Federal Agency for Nationalities, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Administration of the Vysokogorsky municipal district of the Republic of Tatarstan.
