March 20, at 11:00 am, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan hosts a press conference dedicated to the contest of young performers of the XI International Festival of Tatar song named after Rashit Vagapov in 2015.
The press conference to be attended by:
- Rifat Fattakhov - Project Manager;
- Venera Ganieva - member of the jury, People's Artist of Russia and Tatarstan, professor;
- Khalisa Ismagilova - member of the jury, director;
- Rustem Asaev, Richat Tukhvatullin, Ilyus Khuzin, Gulsiren Abdullina - winners of the contest.

Rashit Vagapov (1908-1962) - the great Tatar singer, People's Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan, one of the founders of professional Tatar music.
The festival was founded in 2004 to further the development of Tatar culture, high-performing arts, to perpetuate the memory Rashit Vagapov, preservation and enhancement of the common cultural heritage and spiritual needs of compatriots discovery and support of young talents, development of inter-cultural relations and inter-ethnic harmony.
The founders of the festival are the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Public Fund of the Republic of Tatarstan Tatar culture named after Rashit Vagapov.
Director and author of the festival - Honored Worker of Culture of Russia and Tatarstan, the winner of the Republican Prize named after M. Dzhalil Rifat Fattakhov.
Within the festival the contest for young performers of Tatar songs aimed at searching , identifying and support for new talents in the field of folk songs, classical music, pop singing is held.
Presently, a qualifying round of the competition in the framework of the XI International Festival of Tatar Songs after Rashit Vagapov is under way.
Winners in each category will be awarded diplomas, cash prizes and gifts. Competition winners a preferential right is granted to enter into Producer’s Agreement with the Fund after R. Vagapov.
The award ceremony to take place on May 18 in a big hall of S. Saidash State Grand Concert Hall in Kazan during a gala concert of the festival.
