16 February 2015, Monday

February 20, at 18.30, G. Tinchurin  Tatar State Theatre  premieres  a revival of "Unfulfilled Dreams" ("The House of Bernarda Alba"), based on the play of the famous Spanish playwright and poet Federico García Lorca (translated  by Taslima Khalyaf).

The play was staged in 2008. But it was  played only twice  at  the  Kamal theater, in connection with the repair of the building of  Tinchurin theater. Then everyone could not see the play and therefore it was decided to reconstruct the play on the home stage.

Bernarda Alba - a mother who wanted their children only  the good and happiness. And for the sake of happiness  adhered  to strict rules of such  kind, trying to educate  her  daughters accuracy under the laws of her  fathers and grandfathers. She   following these canons,  did not want to see  reality, trying to hide behind the high walls of her  house. House of Bernarda Alba - a fortress, built  in order to save  her  daughters. But this house was for the unfortunate women a prison, where they gradually fade away, not knowing the joy of life, happiness without trying to communicate with a loved one, did  not know the joy of motherhood. Closed from the outside world by high walls of dark, they fade like flowers without solar heat.

Blinded by his love for her  daughters,   Bernarda did  not want to even hear about marriage,  and  she  considers that a candidate is not worthy  hands of her daughters. In his obstinacy she does not want to hear that her daughters have  become old and hardly ever  get married. "They are so well!" - she decides.

What   is  better,  blind maternal love or parental carelessness? Who decides when children cease to be children and do not require intrusive   parental care. These and other questions arise after reading the works of great Spanish author Federico Garcia Lorca "Unfulfilled Dreams" ("The House of Bernarda Alba").
