The Kazan Youth Theater will host the premiere of the drama "Ivan's Childhood"

6 April 2021, Tuesday

On April 15 and 16 at 18:30 the Kazan Youth Theater will host the premiere of the drama "Ivan's Childhood" based on the screenplays of films by Andrei Tarkovsky and the story "Ivan" by Vladimir Bogomolov. The production was directed by Anton Fedorov, a guest director of the Gogol Center, Teatra.doc, Moscow Modern Art Theater, and a nominee for the Golden Mask national theater award.

According to Anton Fedorov, the performance will become “an attempt to quietly remember”, because loud memory is enough anyway. The performance team will try to feel and remember what they know only from the stories of veterans and pictures. “This is our honest attempt to get in touch with this,” says Fedorov. The production will tell about the state of war in which the heroes are.

People's artists of the Republic of Tatarstan Mikhail Merkushin, Sergey Moseiko, Honored Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan Alexey Zilber, artists Niyaz Zinnatullin, Alexander Yandaev, Polina Malykh, Ilnur Garifullin, Kamil Gataullin, Maria Mukhortova, Valery Antonov are involved in the performance.

Anton Fedorov graduated from the acting faculty (course of Vladimir Poglazov) and the directing faculty (workshop of Yuri Pogrebnichko) of the theater school named after V.I. Shchukin. Previously, he staged performances "Countrymen" based on the story by Mustai Karim, "Shukshin" based on stories by Vasily Shukshin on the stage of the Salavat State Drama Theater, "The Petrovs in the Flu and Around him" based on the novel by Alexei Salnikov at the "Gogol Center", "This is not me" based on the play by Arseny Faryatyev at Teatre.doc, “Kingdom of curves” based on the play by Arseny Faryatyev and Anton Fedorov at the Almetyevsk Tatar Drama Theater. "The Petrovs in and around the Flu" and "The Kingdom of Crooked", as well as Anton Fedorov as the director of these performances and the playwright of "The Kingdom of Crooked" were nominated for the national theater award "Golden Mask" of the 2019/2020 season. Anton Fedorov is also a laureate of the prize of the Union of Theater Workers of Bashkortostan for the best acting ensemble in the Golden Mask festival of the 2016/2017 season.

The play was staged within the framework of the federal party project "Culture of the Small Homeland".
