On April 3-4, the National Library will host "Jadidfest: Kazan - a City on the  Water"

1 April 2021, Thursday

On April 3-4, the World Forum of Tatar Youth and the National Library of the Republic of Tatarstan are holding a new city laboratory of Tatar culture - the Jadidfest festival.

The program includes exhibitions, films, a concert, lectures, a dance performance, excursions, recording memories, master classes for children, and a presentation of a new magazine. Admission to all events is free.

Jadidfest, first organized in 2015, is a platform for creative experimentation. He introduces Kazan to designers, artists, musicians, city associations. In previous years, Jadidfest was held at the Museum of Slot Machines, in the center of modern culture "Smena". In 2019, it was dedicated to the 270th anniversary of the Novo-Tatar settlement. Many festival events are held in the Tatar language. At the same time, we host exhibitions, performances, films, excursions that you can watch without knowing this language. Tatar-speaking events can be easily distinguished by their name.

The main theme of the festival this year is water: that which we drink, in which we swim, next to which we live, rivers, canals and lakes.

Entrance to certain events is by registration: https://wfty.timepad.ru/events/
