Rustam Minnikhanov opened the Naberezhnye Chelny Tatar Drama Theater

Today the opening of the Naberezhnye Chelny State Tatar Drama Theater named after Ayaz Gilyazov took place in the Auto City. The President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and  Mayor of Naberezhnye Chelny Nail Magdeev took part in the ceremony.

Rustam Minnikhanov stressed that the theater will become an important center defining  entire literary and cultural image of Naberezhnye Chelny. “It was our old dream. The Chelninsky Theater has not had its own building for 30 years. I want to thank everyone who took part in  implementing   this project, ”the President of the Republic of Tatarstan noted.

Further, Rustam Minnikhanov took a tour of the theater building. The President of the Republic of Tatarstan visited the auditorium for 300 seats. When decorating the hall, the designers used elements of the Tatar national ornament.

On the second floor, Rustam Minnikhanov saw  the museum, which displays theatrical costumes and archival photographs.

The President of the Republic of Tatarstan was informed that a youth center will also be created in the theater building, the main focus of which will be  development of modern Tatar art. It will house a literary and theater studio, a director's workshop, and a music laboratory.

The Naberezhnye Chelny State Tatar Drama Theater is one of the youngest theater groups in the Republic of Tatarstan. The creative path of the theater began on December 21, 1990. Over 30 years, more than 120 theatrical performances have been performed on the theater stage. A number of performances won prizes at republican, Russian and international theater festivals.
