The memorial plaque of Alfie Avzalova, the national actress of the TASSR, will open on June 14 at 10:00 am in Kazan. A memorial sign was installed on the facade of the house in which an outstanding Tatar singer lived from 2004 to 2017 at the address: Tufan Minnulin  str. d. 8a (from the stop of Marcel Salimzhanov).

The author of the memorial plaque is Kazan sculptor Fanil Valiullin, a graduate of the Moscow Art Institute after  Surikov.

A little later, at 15.00 in the mosque Irek  in memory of the great Tatar lady singer   a pray will be read.

Alfiya Avzalova (January 15, 1933 - June 15, 2017) is a Soviet and Russian Tatar singer. Honored Artist of the Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic, People's Artist of the Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic, Honored Artist of the RSFSR, Soloist of the Tatar Philharmonic Society, winner of the State Prize of the Republic of Tatarstan named after Gabdulla Tukai, awarded the Order of Merit for the Republic of Tatarstan

Alfia Avzalova was born in the village of Aktanysh, Aktanyshsky district of the Republic of Tatarstan.

In 1957 she became a soloist of the Tatar State Song and Dance Ensemble, performed complex works by S. Gabyashi, A. Klyucharyov, M. Muzafarov, 3. Habibullina and many other composers. Her repertoire includes old and modern folk songs.

After a year of work in the ensemble, Alfia Avzalova entered the music school, but after eight months she lost her voice. Having restored her voice, she took up self-education and returned to the ensemble. Then, on the recommendation of the artistic management of the Tatar State Philharmonic Society, Alfiya Avzalova created her own concert group, which included the accompanying variety instrumental ensemble “Kazan Utlary”, consisting of organ, guitar, keyboards and synthesizer under the direction of Karim Gabidullin, as well as a dance group.

Along with this ensemble, Alfiya Avzalova toured the Republics of Central Asia and the Baltic States, visited Moscow, Leningrad and many cities of Russia, appeared before the oil workers of Tatarstan and Bashkortostan, before the builders of KAMAZ, before the village workers. For each trip, which could last two or three months, she could give more than 100 concerts.

The singer won her first great success at a performance on the Decade of Tatar art and literature in Moscow in 1957.

Alfia Avzalova died on the 85th year of her life in Kazan after a serious and prolonged illness. Buried at the Tatar cemetery in Kazan.
