Rustam Minnikhanov and Radiy Khabirov in Ufa unveiled a monument to the Tatar poet Gabdulla Tukai

Today during the working visit to Ufa President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the opening of the monument to the great Tatar, therefore Gabdulla Tukai. Acting Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov also participated in the solemn ceremony.

Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized that Gabdulla Tukay is a significant creative figure not only for Tatarstan, but also for all Turkic peoples as a whole. “In this beautiful place of Ufa a monument to the poet Gabdulla Tukai appeared next to the Tatar theater. I want to thank the leadership of Bashkortostan. I hope we will continue to participate in such joyful events together. Successes and prosperity to Bashkortostan! ”- the President of Tatarstan added.

Radiy Khabirov noted that the opening of the monument to Gabdulla Tukai is an important event for the two fraternal republics. “Now we have a new symbol of friendship between the Tatar and Bashkir peoples,” stressed the acting Head of Bashkortostan.

He noted that the life of the great Tatar classic was associated with Bashkortostan: "He loved Bashkir legends and songs, and the friendship of two great poets - Gabdulla Tukai and Mazhit Gafuri - brought the two fraternal peoples closer together."

A bronze monument to the Tatar poet is installed on the square in front of the Ufa State Tatar Theater "Nur". The monument was cast in Moscow, its height together with the pedestal exceeds 8 meters. The author of the project was the famous sculptor of the Republic of Bashkortostan Vladimir Dvornik.
