Irada Ayupova: “Nauruz” is a search for common principles, values that will be relevant for the entire theater community

A press conference was held at the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan on the 14th International Theater Festival of Turkic Peoples “Nauruz”. It was attended by the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Tajikistan Irada Ayupova; artistic director of the festival "Nauruz", the main director TSAT after G.Kamal, chairman of the Union of Theater Workers of the Republic of Tatarstan Farid Bikchantaev; director of the festival "Nauruz", director of the TSAT named after G.Kamal  Ilfir Yakupov.

From June 1 to June 8, 2019, Kazan will host the XIV International Theater Festival of Turkic Peoples “Nauruz”. The festival program includes 29 theaters from Turkey, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and the national republics of Russia. The special guest of the festival will be the Nottara Theater (Bucharest, Romania) with the performance “Moliere” based on the works by J.-B. Moliere and M. Bulgakov. The director of the play is Roman Feodori (Krasnoyarsk).

“The festival this year is remarkable in that it takes place in the Year of the Theater, announced in the Russian Federation. International Theater Festival of Turkic Peoples "Nauruz is an opportunity not only to talk and compete, but also to turn to our roots, this is a search for common principles and values ​​that will be relevant for the entire theater community of Turkic peoples," said Irada Ayupova, Minister of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan. opening a press conference.

“If the last festival“ Nauruz ”was devoted to Yakutia, then this year“ Nauruz ”will be held under the auspices of theatrical art of Bashkortostan. In total, 6 theaters from Bashkiria will take part in the festival: the Academic Drama Theater named after M. Ghafuri, the Salavat Theater, the Puppet Theater, the Ufa Tatar Theater “Nur”, the Sterlitamak Theater and Concert Association, the National Youth Theater named after M. Karim, says the director festival Ilfir Yakupov. - The festival repertoire is traditionally distinguished by its diversity: here are both foreign classics, and ethnic parables, and modern dramaturgy. In total, the festival will bring together over 500 participants. ”

For the first time in the history of "Nauruz" a showcase will be held - producers from France, Germany, Norway, Hungary, Iran, Turkey and Georgia will be invited to view the festival performances. “The format of the showcase is very important to us. We want well-known theater producers to pay attention to the performances of theaters in Turkic-speaking countries, ”said the festival's artistic director Farid Bikchantaev.

“Festival“ Nauruz ”is a vivid example of serving the good goal of strengthening cultural ties between the peoples of Russia and the world. I am sure that the demonstration of diversity of stage traditions and creative searches of theater schools will contribute to the birth of new names and joint projects, ”said the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan Irada Ayupova.

From 10 to 16 June 2019, under the auspices of the International Festival “Nauruz” and within the framework of the project of the Union of Theater Workers of the Republic of Tatarstan to support theatrical education in Russia, the International Festival of Student Performances (national studios) “Nauruz School” will be held. The festival will bring together performances by students of the Kazakh National Academy of Arts named after T. K. Zhurgenov (Alma-Ata), GITIS (Moscow), the Arctic State Institute of Culture and Arts (Yakutsk), the Ufa State Institute of Arts, the Kazan Theater School and other educational institutions.

The performances of the XIV "Nauruza" will be presented at 7 theater venues in Kazan: the Great and Small halls of the Kamal Theater, the Great and Small Halls of the Ekiyat Puppet Theater, the Tinchurin Theater, the Kariev Theater and the Theater for Young People. The performances will also be played on the square in front of the Kamal Theater and on the embankment of Lake Kaban. Tickets are available at the box office, on the websites of theaters, as well as from ticket operators.

The founders of the Festival are the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Union of Theater Workers of the Russian Federation, the Union of Theater Workers of the Republic of Tatarstan. The organizer is the Tatar State Academic Theater named after G.Kamal.
