March 9 in Kazan celebration of Slavic culture "Broad Maslenitsa – 2019 will take place
On the territory of the Ice Town, near the Center of the Kazan Family, there will be a fair of products of masters of decorative and applied art, shopping arcades for the sale of works of folk art. Also, for the guests of the festival the workshops on walking on stilts, folk dances, making charms and commemorative coins will be organized.
Several sites will open on the territory of the Ice Town: folklore with Russian folk games and fun; contest-playing, driving on horses and a pony. Those who wish can visit entertainments and ride on the ice slides.
Performers of folk songs and dances, the Petrushka Theater will perform on the main stage, items with elements of circus art will be shown, as well as the main fragments of traditional Slavic festive culture. Also, in the program of the holiday: a theatrical performance with the participation of fairy-tale characters, the traditional rite of burning Maslenitsa Shrovetide, a concert and entertainment-game program for children and adults, winter fun with a raffle, a competition of ditty, youth dances and games.
Guests will be treated to pancakes and gingerbread, cooked according to old Russian recipes.
The holiday organizers are the Russian National Cultural Association of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Kazan City Hall, the Assembly and the House of Friendship of the Peoples of Tatarstan with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan.
