Days of Japanese Culture in the Republic of Tatarstan will be held in Kazan

The Tatar-Japanese Cultural Information Center "Sakura" on behalf of the Organizers: informs October 30  starts  the program of cultural events "Days of Culture of Japan in the Republic of Tatarstan", which is the key event in the Republic of Tatarstan within the framework of the cross year of Japan in Russia and Russia in Japan.

The program of cultural events is rich in diversity, reflecting the development and intensity of bilateral relations.

The opening ceremony starts at the Kazan Kremlin with the exhibition “Culture without Borders”, among the participants  the works by  Japanese icon painter, a member of the international group of icon painters Ms. Hiroku Kozuki (Kozuki in the English version), the works by the world famous calligrapher - People’s Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, Laureate State Prize of the Republic of Tatarstan named after G.Tukai, participant of the war, 94 year old Vladimir Popov, who created the Tugri of Japanese figures, including the Tugri of the Emperor and Empress of Japan, Prime Minister and Abe. The exhibition is complemented by a Japanese series of works by the Kazan artist-master of leather, Candidate of Chemical Sciences Olga Cherkasova and calligrapher Rosa Khuzina.

At the opening several numbers of the Japanese group ORIENTARHYTM will be presented, under the leadership of the pioneer of the projection show Sakakura Katsumi, demonstrating  performances of European champions in kendo. Japanese music for anime films by the legendary Mijazaki will be performed by the Youth Orchestra of the Foundation for the Development of Performing Arts “SFORZANDO”.

On the same day, on October 30, the Japanese group ORIENTARHYTM at the Youth Center “AK BARS” will show the projection show “SHU-HU-RI”

On October 31, 2018, a performance based on Japanese legends “Crane” performed by the Moscow Theater “Apart” with the participation of Japanese actress Tomomi Orita will be shown in the premises of the Tatar TYUZz named after Kariyev. On the same day, two hours earlier, at the National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan, an exhibition of etchings by the best modern Russian graphics Nadir Almeyev dedicated to Hiroshima will open. In the process of preparing this exhibition, the Sakura Center agreed to cooperate with the Peace Memorial Museum in Hiroshima. Later after the November holidays, exhibitions devoted to Japan will be organized at the National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan, accompanied by master classes. A joint action with the participation of Kazan fashion designer Katya Borisova, who studied in Japan and prepared the innovative design project “Synergy of the East based on the works by Baki Urmanche” and the defile of 10 Japanese cosplayers, including Number 1 on YOUTUBE-Majime, and member of the international  jury of the Kaname "Kaname" International Anime Festivals. This is the first mass arrival of Japanese costume players in the Russian Federation. Kazan was the first in the list of visits.

The Academy of Youth Diplomacy has prepared various surprises for students in the framework of the Tomodati - Duslar project, including master classes from Japanese designers and from the chefs of the Rokknrolly cafe chain in Japan. An international conference “Russia - Japan: Politics, History and Culture” is organized at the KFU Institute of International Relations, within which there will be many master classes in Japanese culture. Scientists and practitioners will arrive at the conference, including an expert on development strategies Ivao Ohashi, who has long-standing business ties with our republic.

Japanese cosplayers will perform and give master classes at the Zilantcon International Role Playing Festival, whose program this year is full of a lot of events related to Japanese culture.

In the Mir cinema, Japanese films are being prepared for the show: “Inujasiki”, “The Scythian Lamb”, “The Family on Survival” and “The Place Where Mori Lives.” Unlike past Japanese film festivals, the current festival will pamper Kazan viewers with films created last year and this year.

Admission to the events is free, but preliminary registration is required on the social network VKontakte on the page of the Academy of Youth Diplomacy.
