In Kazan, a concert of "Sufi music"

2 October 2018, Tuesday

For years, Russia and India have maintained warm, time-tested relations. Russia is one of the main political, strategic and economic partners for India. However, not only business partnership binds India and Russia, but also something more - indestructible friendship.

The manifestation of deep interest in the traditions and culture of India from the Russian people takes the relations of the two countries to a new level, making them even stronger.

Partnerships between the Governments of the Republic of India and the Russian Federation between our peoples are particularly privileged and strategic. Especially for the last seven decades, cultural ties between India and Russia have been an important part of our friendship.

As part of the work on acquaintance of the Russian people with the best Indian culture, the Embassy of India, the Jawaharlal Nehru Cultural Center and the Department of Culture of the Government of India on September 6, 2018 held a semi-annual “Festival of India” in the Russian Federation. The festival was held at the State Kremlin Palace in Moscow and will run until March 2019.

On October 4, 2018, a concert of Sufi music is planned to take place in Kazan at the “Pyramid” concert complex of the Festival.

Sufi music is the religious music of Sufis, inspired by the works of Sufi poets such as Rumi, Hafiz, Bulleh Shah, Amir Khusrov and Khwaja Ghulam Farid. Sufism is that it preaches only compassion and love. That is why this music enjoys love and respect all over the world.

Entrance to the concert is free.
