The troupe of the Kazan Academic Russian Bolshoi Drama Theater named after V. I. Kachalov went out from leave

August 17, on the main stage of the theatre gathering of the troupe was held. The artistic director-director of the theater Alexander Slavutsky told about plans for the 228th season. The new theatrical year on September 14 will be opened by a hit of the Kachalov’s repertoire comedy by Beaumarchais "Mad day, or The Marriage of Figaro."

The first premiere of the season will be "Forest" based on the play of the same name by A.Ostrovsky, rehearsals of which begins the Petersburg director, laureate of the National Theater Award "Golden Mask" Igor Konyaev. The play will include Svetlana Romanova, Mikhail Galitsky, Ilya Petrov, Ilya Slavutsky, Alexei Zakharov, Gennady Prytkov and other leading artists of the theater. For Kazan viewers, Igor Konyayev's work is already known: the third season in Kachalovsky's repertoire is successfully going his production of the Shakespearean comedy “ Taming of the Shrew”. In late September, this one of the hits of Kachalovsky's poster will be a participant of the festival "At the Golden Gate" in Vladimir. On September 30 the performance will be played on the stage of the Vladimir Academic Drama Theater as part of the special program "Five Evenings with Shakespeare", participants  of which to be also featured by the Shota Rustaveli Theater (Tbilisi) with Robert Sturua, the Youth Theater on Fontanka (St. South-West (Moscow) and the Ulyanovsk Drama Theater.

Among the expected prime season - the famous "Dragon" by Evgeni Schwartz. The work over this one of the most interesting plays of the playwright has already begun the artistic director of the theater Alexander Slavutsky.

One of the most significant events of the season promises to be holding in October-November of the long-planned Kachalovsky Theater Festival. The poster and off-program of this forum will be finally formed in the coming days, but it is already known about participation in the Kachalovsky Festival of Vakhtangov Theater, St. Petersburg Theater named after Lensovet and the Little Drama Theater, Chamber Theater from Voronezh.

After successful tours in Germany and China, the Kachalovites are waiting for return visits - Kazan audiences will see performances by Hanover and Beijing theaters.

At the end of the season, a full-scale tour is planned to Sevastopol.

Jubilee dates are also coming. On September 22, master of the theatre, Honored Artist of Russia, People's Artist of Tatarstan, laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Tatarstan Alexander Patrakov, the 70th jubilees will mark, the Honored artist of Russia, People's Artist of Tatarstan, laureate of the State Award of the Republic of Tatarstan named after G.Tukay Mikhail Galitsky and Honored Artist of Tatarstan Irina Chernavina.
