International open-air festival "Summer evenings in Yelabuga"

From 12 to 15 July  Elabuga will host the festival "Summer evenings in Elabuga" in the open-air format. The artistic director of the festival is the Honored artist of Russia, the world-famous pianist Boris Berezovsky. The festival will be held with the support of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. The initiator of the forum was the administration  of Elabuga Municipal District. The event was organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan, the administration of Elabuga and the Elabuga State Museum-Reserve.

Yelabuga will be visited by a star cast of performers - violist Yuri Bashmet, violinist Nikita Borisoglebsky, cellist Alexander Knyazev, soloist of the Mariinsky Theater Maritime Theater opera company Aigul Khismatullina, bards Tatyana and Sergei Nikitins, bayanist Aidar Salakhov, pianist Ksenia Bashmet.

The soloists will perform accompanied by the St. Petersburg State Symphony Orchestra and the Chamber Orchestra of Igor Lerman from Naberezhnye Chelny. Liturgical chants will be performed by the Ensemble of Old Russian Spiritual Music "Sirin", directed by Andrei Kotov.

The music program of the festival includes different genres - folklore music, domestic and foreign classics of the XVIII - XX centuries, compositions of contemporary composers, spiritual music of the XVII-XVIII centuries and author's song. TV host Alexander Gordon will appear in unexpected quality for the audience and read poetry of his favorite poets.

In the program of the festival known to the general public works by  Russian classics of the XIX century - M.I. Glinka, N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov, P.I. Tchaikovsky, classics of the XX century - S.V. Rakhmaninov and D.D. Shostakovich, modern authors A.V. Tchaikovsky and N.G. Zhiganov. The most famous works by foreign composers of the past three centuries will be performed: Johann Sebastian Bach, Antonio Vivaldi, Franz Schubert, Johannes Brahms, Felix Mendelssohn, Fritz Kreisler, Astor Piazzolla and Leopold Godowski.

The concerts begin on July 12, 13, July 14 at 18:30, on July 15 - at 15:00. During all the days of the festival guests of Elabuga will have a unique opportunity to see the numerous museums and architectural sights of an ancient Russian city that preserved the original appearance of the merchant province of the second half of the 19th century.

July 16 in the Organ Hall of Naberezhnye Chelny, 20 kilometers from Elabuga, will be a concert "Berezovsky with the family", which will be attended by the wife of the pianist Ellina Pak (alt), his daughter - Evelina Berezovskaya (piano) and Maria Berezovskaya (percussion instruments) , the maestro himself Boris Berezovsky and the hospitable hosts of the hall - Igor Lerman's Chamber Orchestra.
