On February 7, a meeting of Tatar writers with the son of the outstanding Kyrgyz writer Chingiz Aitmatov, Askar Chingizovich Aitmatov, took place at the Writers' Union of the Republic of Tatarstan

The arrival of A.Ch. Aitmatov is connected with the creation of a documentary about Ch. Aitmatov, and the first stop in the creative process of filming was the Republic of Tatarstan.

Askar Aitmatov stressed: "Chingiz Aitmatov and Tatarstan are a special and poorly researched region. Chingiz Aitmatov is the son of two peoples and he never forgot about it."

We remind  that Ch. Aitmatov came to Tatarstan in 2008, but then he did not have time to visit the motherland of his mother - a native of the Kukmorsky district. For Askar Aitmatov, visiting Kukmor became a kind of tribute to the memory of the ancestors: "I did what Chingiz Aitmatov had to do and did not do."

The meeting was attended by those who knew his father personally: Razil Valeyev, Renat Haris, Ravil Faizullin, Robert Minnullin, Rabit Batullah, Gazinur Morat, etc. Everyone shared his memories of the meeting with Chingiz Aitmatov, reflections on the significance of the writer for the world national literature, the relationship of Tatar roots and themes of Aitmatov's creative work.

At the end of the meeting A.Aitmatov thanked all participants of the round table, noting that today we are experiencing a revival of interest in the personality and creativity of Chingiz Aitamtov.
