The Newest Music: Dialogues. Season VII

19 December 2017, Tuesday

On December 20 (Wednesday) in the Small Hall of the Kazan State Conservatory named after N.G. Zhiganov (Bolshaya Krasnaya Str., 38) a concert "The newest  music: Dialogues. Season VII" will take place.   Performed by young musicians, senior students of the Conservatory, will be compositions by K. Penderecki, A. Shnitke, A. Piart, B. Tchaikovsky, S. Gubaidulina, E.Nizamov and other composers. The evening starts at 17.00.

The concert will be held  within the framework of the author's course of lectures by musicologist, assistant professor Olga Skepner on the discipline "Music of the second half of the ХХth - early XXI centuries", being the logical conclusion of the semester program. The evening is timed to the 70th anniversary of the music history department and will be held under the aegis of the project "Sound History" (a series of lectures and concerts, the head is Professor Vadim Dulat-Aleev).

"The twentieth century will go down in history as a period of the" great breakthrough "in music, the greatest upheaval of the very foundations of art," says Olga Skepner. - Other aesthetic settings, listening skills, ideas of musical beauty, different from the period of the classic-romantic style - all rapidly evolved throughout the twentieth century. Evolution as a gradual change of paradigms, with reference to the New Music, was of a rapid, explosive nature. The newest music developed according to its criteria of logic and beauty: nothing remained of the previous criteria of the structure of the form, the traditional laws of melody, harmony, texture during the "second avant-garde" (beginning in the 1950s) ... But this was due to changes in the human psychology of that period (60th, 70th years of the twentieth century). Radical changes will also happen by the end of the twentieth century: many composers will later "depart" from the aesthetics of the avant-garde, "the pathos of negation of the avant-garde" will be permeated by the works of the late 70's Arvo Pärt, Valentin Silvestrov, later Krzysztof Penderecki and many others. Loss of communication with the listener (evident in the avant-garde period) begins to be filled. Gradually the newest music of the twentieth century (music of the second half of the twentieth century) is part of the stream of musical practice. After all, even the most radical innovations will be put on a par with all their attendant after a while.

The concert "New music: Dialogues" is intended for a wide audience. This is an attempt to touch the mosaic of styles and directions, to compositions of composers with individual technique. "

Participation in the concert will be attended by conservatory students (instrumentalists, vocalists, choral conductors), folk instruments orchestra (conducted by I. Fayzrakhmanov). The presenter is Anastasia Ashirova.

The entrance to the event is free.

Accreditation of journalists is carried out by phone. 89046656223 (Evelina Galimullina).
