As a result of the first stage KazanOperaLab, the participants will be divided into groups "composer - artist - playwright - director". It is in these creative teams that they will begin working on operas in the second stage of the laboratory, during which teams must create a draft version of the text and approve the composition of the performers of the future opera.

The third stage is composition. Teams will present a libretto and musical sketches. At the fourth stage it is necessary to "hand over" the final musical work. The rehearsals and the learning of parties will begin. Then there will be a show of sketches of performances, the so-called "works-in-progress", following which the expert council of the laboratory will recommend the best sketches for the production.

Finally, the final fifth stage: the premiere of operas created by young Tatarstan composers, directors, artists and playwrights within the framework of the KazanOperaLab art school. It is planned that the presentation of musical performances will take place not only in Kazan, but also in Moscow, and, possibly, even on European stages. According to organizers, the final of the laboratory will be held in autumn 2018.

Daniyar Sokolov, head of the Foundation for the Development of Performing Arts "Sforzando": "Over the years of the foundation's existence, we managed to experiment both with classical and modern opera productions. And they came to the conclusion that in Tatarstan it is necessary to educate a new generation of musicians who will deal with contemporary art, modern opera. In Kazan, there is experience in the implementation of modern productions both on the premises of the Conservatory and on the stage of the Opera and Ballet Theater. We want to open new, hitherto unknown to the general public young and talented guys who are able to surprise with a new look at opera. Therefore, we conceived KazanOperaLab. For the first stage of the laboratory, we tried to collect outstanding contemporary figures of theatrical, musical art of Russia, real stars. During the whole laboratory, during the coming year, we will also bring in both the vocal masters and instrumentalists who have a command of modern technologies in the performing arts. The laboratory aims to create absolutely new works of chamber opera. Education of new professionals. And, of course, we will do our best to make the result of the laboratory interesting to the viewer, so that the operas were not written "for the table", but sounded on the stage so that critics highly appreciated our first steps towards the goal. We hope that this is only the beginning and the project will be annual. "
